Pastry Chef at Fairmont El San Juan Hotel

Chef Janeric Bayala’s interest in gastronomy began at a young age in Carolina, Puerto Rico, where she grew up surrounded by traditional cooking methods like open-flame rice cooking and homemade desserts. Inspired by her grandmother's homemade cakes, Janeric inherited her recipes and equipment, starting her journey by making desserts for sale during middle school. She graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Culinary Management with a major in Hospitality Management at Ana G. Mendez University, while gaining kitchen experience at Chuck E. Cheese and working in various restaurants and private events. Her internship at Condado Vanderbilt Hotel sparked her specialization in pastry, leading to roles as a third cook and second cook in the bakery department. In 2021, she became the Pastry Chef at Fairmont El San Juan Hotel, where she continues to embrace new learning adventures every day.
